Qualcomm Menghadirkan Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Qualcomm pada acara Snapdragon Tech Summit tahun ini mengumumkan chipset baru Snapdragon 8 Gen 1,  yang merupakan penerus Snapdragon 888. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 merupakan chipset pertama yang gunakan skema penamaan baru Qualcomm, dengan membuang sistem penomoran tiga digit.

Qualcomm menjanjikan beberapa peningkatan besar pada Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, dengan kinerja yang lebih baik, teknologi kamera, kemampuan AI, keamanan, dan 5G.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 adalah chip pertama dari Qualcomm yang menggunakan arsitektur Armv9 terbaru dari Arm. Qualcomm berjanji bahwa Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 akan menawarkan kinerja hingga 20 persen lebih baik dan efisiensi daya hingga 30 persen lebih banyak dibandingkan model tahun lalu. Dengan GPU Adreno yang baru berjanji akan mampu rendering grafis 30 persen lebih cepat, di samping efisiensi daya 25 persen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan Snapdragon 888.

Pada Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, modem Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 menjanjikan serangkaian fitur baru untuk 5G. Sebagai modem 5G generasi keempat Qualcomm, modem ini dibangun tingkat kompatibilitas dan menambahkan dukungan hingga kecepatan 10 Gbps. Kecepatan tersebut dinilai tidak berarti banyak di dunia nyata, karena beberapa jaringan 5G tercepat tidak memberikan kecepatan lebih dari 4Gbps dalam kondisi normal.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 juga mendukung Wi-Fi 6 dan Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LE Audio, dan mengaktifkan audio nirkabel AptX Lossless.

Qualcomm membekali Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 dengan kemampuan kamera yang diberi nama Snapdragon Sight Technology, Teknologi ini mampu menangkap lebih dari 4000 kali lebih data kamera dibandingkan pendahulunya, mulai dari HDR, warna, dan ketajaman.
